At Evans Motors we genuinely care about our customers.
Our family business is owned by Kelly Nevins and her husband John with Kelly’s father Peter, our knight in shining armour who carries out most of our breakdown recovery collections.
When we bought Evans Motors in 2018, we were keen to do things differently to many other garages.
As a result, we don’t charge for diagnostics, promise clear communication about any work which needs to be done, and above all we provide quality workmanship at a fair price.
We understand how important it is for you have confidence in the work we carry out on your vehicle and we will always explain what’s up in plain English. Importantly we will not start work on fixing the problem until we have your go ahead.
Plus, we will never make you feel silly for not knowing what is wrong with your car – after all that’s what we are here for!
We are keen to give something back to our local community, and we regularly support a number of Colchester charities either with donations or by offering our skills and services.

Kelly
After years of feeling that she was being ripped off every time she had her car serviced or made to feel daft when she needed a repair, Kelly decided to take a stand. Now she runs her own garage where the rules are different, where people are treated fairly and honestly, and customers are given a clear explanation of what work needs to be done and why. If you call Evans Motors the chances are you will speak to Kelly as she looks after all of our customer calls, setting out the work that needs to be done and the options on offer.
Lukas

Lukas is a skilled, patient mechanic who loves solving tricky faults and fixing cars properly — not guessing, not rushing. Super organised, precise, and genuinely caring, he’s known for taking the time to help customers understand what’s been done and why.

Peter
A familiar face at Evans Motors, Peter is particularly skilled when it comes to classic cars. He will usually be the person who rescues you from the roadside if you use our breakdown recovery service and he also carries out collections if you need help getting your vehicle to us for service or repair.
